Description
For sale is a complete 1976 Harley-Davidson XLX 1000 Ironhead engine. This is a solid rebuildable motor that comes with the complete bottom end and top end, along with the components shown in the photos.
One piston is damaged and one cylinder wall has some surface rust. I have included one .050 over piston, and the buyer will need to purchase a second matching piston. The cylinders will likely require boring to .050 over (recommended) or possibly a hone depending on your machine shop’s inspection.
The crankshaft appears to be in good condition, the lifters look good, and the transmission shifts properly. The heads are also in good shape.
This would make a great rebuild project for a vintage Sportster or custom build.
