Description

This is a used, early-style Big Twin 5-speed transmission internal geartrain assembly and builder's parts core lot. Featuring a distinctive matte flat silver finish, this kit is believed to be an early RevTech aftermarket production run designed to slip directly into first-generation five-speed transmission boxes. The entire collection has been removed from a project engine assembly and is being offered as a versatile builder package for classic drivetrain mockups, restoration parts sourcing, or bench repairs.
CRITICAL LOT SPECIFICATIONS & INCLUSIONS:
  • Main Hard Parts: Includes 1 tapered-style transmission mainshaft cluster assembly and 1 companion countershaft gear stack assembly.
  • Shift Drum Mechanism: Features a genuine OEM Harley-Davidson 33325-79 Shift Drum Bearing Support Housing and alignment plate assembly, rotating through functional track gates.
  • Hardware Assortment: Includes a loose assortment of extra internal replacement gears, gear shims, thrust washers, and high-tension retaining circlips as pictured.
  • Condition: Used condition with normal surface wear from operation and bench storage. No obvious structural tooth fractures are present on the primary stacks, but given the disassembled layout, this is sold as a parts/rebuilder core package. Housing case is not included.

    • Shovelhead 5-Speed Touring (1980–1984): Tour Glide FLT, FLTC, Electra Glide FLHT, FLHTC
    • Shovelhead 5-Speed FXR Series (1982–1984): FXR, FXRS, FXRT Super Glide II
    • Early Evolution (Early 1984): Very early 5-speed FLT/FXR models featuring a tapered mainshaft profile.
    Fitment Warning & Uncertainty: This gear set features the distinct early tapered mainshaft profile designed specifically for traditional keyway hubs. It will not fit late 1984–1999 Evolution models or 2000–2006 Twin Cam gearboxes, which utilize modern splined mainshaft designs. Due to the miscellaneous loose cogs and disassembled condition, the buyer must physically mic and cross-reference total gear counts and case depth widths to ensure a complete mesh.
